용암종유는 재빨리 굳지 못한 용암이 천장에서 떨어지거나, 동굴 내에 다시 용암이 지나갈 때 천장에 있는 암석이 부분적으로 녹으면서 지구의 중심을 향하여 상어 이빨 모양으로 만들어지는 생성물이다. 용암종유는 주로 높이가 낮고 폭이 좁은 통로에서 많이 발견된다. 크기는 대체로 작지만 수십 센티미터에 이르는 것도 있다.

Lava stalactite that do not harden quick drops in the ceiling, or when lava passes again within cave, it is product forming by shark tooth shape for center of the earth as rock in the ceiling melts partially. Lava stalactite is low height mainly and width is discovered much in bottleneck. Size is generally small, but there is that reach for tens centimeter.
